After a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! false !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! thanks to BMW’s, shall we say, “over engineered” jack point design, I got my wheels on. The rears are nice and dished. Not sure this pic fully captures it. Kumho PS91s are real comfy too, these 19s ride better than the 18" Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3s the previous owner had on the stock wheels.
Tire Rack’s instructions for TPMS said I would have to register the sensors in these wheels to the car using the instructions in my car’s owner’s manual. But I think maybe they say that to everyone who orders TMPS sensors, because all I did was put the wheels on the car and drive, and I haven’t gotten any warning lights.
EDIT: So...here’s the whole car. There’s too much front wheel gap from the stock awd suspension but that will be fixed as soon as all my !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .

Damn, those look good, you made the right choice to go with the roundels as the center caps

I’m happy with the choice as well! The response to that poll was like 9 to 1 in favor of the roundels, so no brainer really.

I’m sorry but what’s wrong with the jack points on BMW’s? Unlike other cars that don’t have one, it’s super nice on BMW’s and other German cars.
Also, just because something may be hard to do, doesnt mean it's "over-engineered."

Nothing is wrong with them, I like them.
The false start was I bought jack adapter for them and assumed the jack pads were already on the car, without checking. The first time I went to jack up the car and swap wheels, I discovered, oh hey wait a minute, there aren’t any jack pads on the car.
So I ordered 4 new jack pads, and once they arrived I used my jack & adapter to press the pads into the frame rails as I jacked up each corner to change the wheel.

Oh well if they're missing that is a pain in the ass. I don't know how they fall out but they definitely do, which can be annoying.

FYI I haven’t messed up my jack points using just a jack, and honestly most of the time I don’t even put the jack on the jack points - that’s where my jackstands go.

Better to have over engineered jackpoints than under engineered them. On the 4th gen firebird, GM was all like, “What? Just put it anywhere under the door. What do you mean the frame bend when you do that? Quit complaining about non-important things, you pansy.”

I know you can jack the car up in different ways but I figured for just changing wheels the simplest thing was to jack up a corner at a time. I bought the adapter first, thinking the pads were on the car, but they weren’t.
Oh also I bought with this little guy :
I got a coworker to take my old Craftsman floor jack that I got as part of a set with a creeper and jack stands . That jack never fit under any low-ish performance cars including this one. I used to have ramps that I’d drive the car up on before using the jack but gave those away years ago.

I like the jack points. I just needed to buy a few things to actually use them.

LOL. What frame?
This is why SFCs are always the first mod. Fix rattles, sometimes fixes t-top issues... but also gives a great jack point.

A low-profile aluminum jack would be really nice - my crappy Advance Auto jack has a tough time slipping under the side skirts of my car.

This one’s on sale at Harbor Freight for 90 bucks! I was a little worried about it only being rated for 1.5 tons when my car weighs ~3700 lbs. Harbor Freight also has 2, 2.5 and 3 ton jacks in this style but they’re bigger and more expensive. They have 2 front wheels outside the frame instead of the 1 roller inside the frame. But a friend pointed out that the jack is never really supporting the full weight of the car if you’re jacking up one corner so I went for the 1.5 ton one. It’s cute!

Thanks! Tires are Kumho PS91, 235/35-19 and 275/30-19. So far I’m liking them but it’s kind of hard to get a good sense of their performance with the way-too-soft stock xDrive suspension.
